Maybe it’s the cocoa, maybe it’s the nostalgia, or maybe it’s the sheer magic of knowing we live in a city that knows how to do Christmas. Seeing all the Christmas lights is one of the best things to do in Charlotte for the holidays, along with all the awesome pop-up events, markets, and festivals!
Whether you’re loading up the car with friends or creating a new family tradition, these are the best neighborhoods and streets around Charlotte to make your 2025 holiday season shine.
Where to See the Best Christmas Lights in Charlotte
There are so many amazing places to see Christmas lights around Charlotte—here's your ultimate guide. Make sure to check out the interactive map to get exact directions to each spot listed.
1. Hillside Avenue – Myers Park
- Jamie’s Tip: Go on a weekday evening before 7 p.m. for the prettiest twilight photos and easier parking.
2. Wade Ardrey Neighborhood – Ballantyne
- Jamie’s Tip: Roll the windows down—yes, even if it’s 45 degrees. The laughter and music make it worth it.
3. Montibello – Off Carmel Road
- Jamie’s Tip: Follow the glow—Google Maps will usually reroute you straight to the brightest block.
4. Sherwood Forest Drive – SouthPark
- Jamie’s Tip: Bring a thermos and park nearby so you can stroll—it’s worth slowing down for this one.
